Travie McCoy Talks Jason Mraz Collaboration and New Music Plans
. The video, filmed on the streets of New York City, had just dropped two days prior and Travie admits he was still receiving "hate mail" about the mirrored city scenes giving people headaches from trying to watch upside down. Travie admits he had something in mind when filming. "It's kind of like [the film] Inception," he says. "When I first saw that movie I was like, 'wow this is genius' and then when I saw the final cut of this video I was like, 'dope!' "To be completely honest," Travie explains about the track, "the song was written a while ago, with Benny Blanco, and was just kind of floating around. He was working with Jason he dug it laid some guitars on it, re-sang the hook and totally breathed new air into it and gave it a whole new life." Looking forward, Travie has been working on a new album as well other projects in the studio. "I guess with every record I do, I try to outdo myself.recently we just cut an EP of cover songs, summertime cover songs and they're all really high-range sung songs," explains Travie. "I worked with a vocal coach, Anita in Miami, and she pulled something out of me that I didn't even know existed. It was like, 'whoa, I can do that? I can sing that high?'" more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
