David Bowie Tour Rumors Shot Down

(Radio.com) Despite a new album under his belt, touring still doesn't seem to be a major priority for David Bowie. According to Billboard, reports that Bowie could be returning to the stage, behind March's The Next Day or otherwise, are inaccurate, citing a confirmation from Arthur Fogel, Live Nation's CEO of global touring.

That's in response to a report from U.K. tabloid The Mirror, which wrote that Bowie was in the middle of a bidding war to return to live performing, particularly from Live Nation for a concert at London's Olympic Park in 2014.

The Mirror also reported that AEG was close to a bid for Bowie, perhaps for a date at Hyde Park in London. Bowie hasn't performed onstage in eight years, but speculation has been rampant since Bowie released The Next Day to a nice share of publicity, it being the singer's first album of new material since 2003′s Reality. The buzz was certainly assisted by a Bowie exhibit at London's Victoria & Albert Museum, which moved 42,000 advance tickets. more on this story
