Katy Perry's 'Roar' Takes No. 1 From Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines'
. The debut single off Perry's forthcoming album Prism, "Roar" becomes Perry's eighth Hot 100 No. 1. Her inaugural Hot 100 hit was 2008′s "I Kissed a Girl," which kept the top position for seven weeks. Perry has much to celebrate as she is well in the race of women with the most No. 1 hits, close behind Mariah Carey (18), Madonna and Rihanna (12 each), Whitney Houston (11) and Janet Jackson (10). According to Billboard, "Roar" also leads Digital Singles for the third week, having sold 448,000 downloads, which is up 14% after her performance at the VMAs. While Thicke's "Blurred Lines," featuring T.I. and Timbaland, comes in at No. 2 this week, it still leads Radio Songs for its ninth week and remains at No. 2 on Streaming Songs. Eminem isn't too far behind with his single "Berzerk" taking the No. 3 slot, which earns Em his 15th Hot 100 top 10. Only Jay Z, Lil Wayne and Ludacris top his record. Meanwhile, previous New Artist to Know Lorde enters the top 10 with "Royals." See how the album chart came out this week. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
