(The Blues) Albert King is among 13 people chosen for induction into the Memphis Hall Of Fame this year. The iconic late guitarist follows B.B. King, who was name among the first list of honourees in 2012 by the newly-established organisation, overseen by the Smithsonian Institute.

The aim is to underline the musical contribution of those who have strong ties to the city. Elvis Presley was of course first on the list, accompanied by Otis Redding and Isaac Hayes.

Other names for the class of 2013, who will be inducted on November 7, include Johnny Cash, the Bar-Keys, Phineas Newborn Jr and songwriter David Porter. more on this story
