Singled Out: I Am Trigg's I Can't Wait
. This song was something I came up with during a session with Notorious Nate, a producer from Queens. He played this track and it got me opened up. I was thinking this is different from everything out there that I was hearing from other rappers. It dared to be different, yet positive. I guess in other words, you can't make history without making a difference. The lyrical content in the song was easy to come up with. Track Producer Nate, and I, discussed topics that teens can relate to, and I wanted to keep the song positive. I talked about being in school and said how I couldn't wait for the bell to ring so I can go hang out and chill. I found some inspiration from some of my favorite artists such as Will.i.am, Akon, B.O.B, Michael Jackson, Deadmau5, and Kanye West. Most guys in school are thinking about girls and popularity. We're in the lunchroom, there's always this crew or clique of girls that's showing off, twerking or shaking their butts. My 1st line talks about things I've seen in school. "Girl just move, pop it, lock it and drop it. Babe how you move, make me take you to tropics." The tropic is about daydreaming where I'd like to go once that bell rang. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself here and learn more about I Am Trigg right here!
