Britney Spears Announce Las Vegas Show and Album Release

. (Radio.com) Britney Spears is becoming a Vegas showgirl. Kind of. The singer told Good Morning America yesterday (September 17) that she would be heading to Las Vegas to kick off a residency at the city's Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Spears will complete a two-year residency at the resort with an expected 50 shows each year.

"We wanted the environment to be that way so people could come and have a good time and stand up and feel like they're in the show with me," Spears said. "I love Vegas. The energy here is really, really good."

She also talked about what fans can expect from the show. "I'm going to definitely do the greatest hits but I'm going to have to put some of my new material in it to just keep it fresh," Spears said.

Along with the announcement of the musical revue, which will be called "Piece of Me," Brit Brit also announced that her currently untitled eighth album will be released on December 3.

Spears has already given fans a taste of her new album with the club ready single, "Work Bitch," which premiered over the weekend. Spears told GMA that the album will include a few slower songs that were inspired by her breakup with fianc� Jason Trawick. more on this story
