How Zakk Wylde's String Dreams Turned In A Farce

(TeamRock Radio) Zakk Wylde has recalled how hiring a string section to appear on Black Label Society's new album dissolved into a farce. They managed to make things work, and the results can be heard on Unblackened, a record consisting of live alternate takes on BLS classics, which is released on September 23.

Wylde decided to bring in four classically-trained musicians for a version of Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. He tells Billboard: "That was an adventure we had these four guys come down. Union guys, right? They play two hours to the dot, take a break and stay for one more hour.

"We put the sheet music in front of them and we start playing. It was right up there as far as disasters go with the Hinbenburg, the Titanic f**king Michael Dukakis running for president. We were laughing our balls off!

"They were like, 'We can stay an extra hour,' and I go, 'Are you out of your f**king minds? You're going to have to stay for an extra two months!' More from Zakk
