(Radio.com) This Sunday (September 29), Gene Simmons will perform at London's Wembley Stadium, but it's not with his band KISS. Instead the bassist will sing the National Anthem for the NFL International Series game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings.

According to NME, the bassist will sing "The Star Spangled Banner" before the game's kick-off. "I'm excited to be touching down in London to sing our US National Anthem at the Vikings-Steelers game," Simmons said in a statement.

"I always love playing a role in these types of high-action, fast-paced games, not to mention returning to the UK and performing in front of some the best fans in the world!"

Simmons seems to have football on the brain these days. The KISS frontman, along with bandmate Paul Stanley, recently acquired a new Arena Football League team, to be called LA KISS, and in a recent interview with Radio.com Simmons said he was looking to bring some arena rock excitement to the football field. We're talking customized uniforms that would change every week and people rappelling from the roof. more on this story
