The band have endured a difficult year after the death of sidelined guitarist Jeff Hanneman, followed by the dismissal of original drummer Dave Lombardo and the return of Paul Bostaph in his place.
But Slayer's US booking agent says there were never plans for the outfit to stop working. Scott Sokol tells Billboard: "It wasn't going to help anybody to cancel what they were doing. The band likes to go out there and play. I think part of the way they deal with things is to do what they love."
Asked about the chances of more material in the near future, he says: "They're definitely working on new music. More things will be revealed in the coming weeks."
He believes Exodus guitarist Gary Holt is doing a great job of standing in for Hanneman, which he'd been doing for two years before the founding member's death. - See what he had to say about Holt here.
