B.B. King Heckled At Recent Concert

(The Blues) B.B. King has been defended by stalwart supporters after he was heckled during a concert at the weekend. Some ticket-buyers at the Peabody Opera House in St Louis began making catcalls and left early as the 88-year-old icon delivered a set described as "erratic" and "rambling."

The Star Tribune reports that King only performed a handful of complete songs, with the majority of the evening made up of "meandering musical snippets, long-winded soliloquies" and "a backing band that missed its cues."

One attendee said: "Is he a living legend? Absolutely. Do I love his music? You bet. But when you're paying $150 you expect to see a show." But another reported the crowd weren't simply heckling - instead they were suggesting song titles as a way of turning King's attention back to the show. He added: "Everybody was respectful that this guy is 88 years old. It was painful to watch." more on this story
