"I thought the idea for the tribute album was cool until I started talking to everybody," Neil told Billboard at the 49th annual Academy of Country Music Awards in his hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday. "Then I thought it was cooler and cooler and cooler!"

"When you look at the song catalog, the songs are going to be the things that stand the test of time," said Big Machine Records founder Scott Borchetta when the project was announced.
