King King Dominate British Blues Awards

(The Blues) King King won a total of five British Blues Awards over the weekend. They were named Blues Band Of The Year and their record Standing In The Shadows was named Blues Album Of The Year at the annual ceremony.

Frontman Alan Nimmo also took home the Male Vocalist gong, while colleagues Lindsay Coulson and Wayne Proctor won Bass Player and Drummer Of The Year respectively.

Presentations took place at the Great British Blues festival in Colne over the weekend, with other winners including Aynsley Lister (Songwriter Of The Year), Marcus Bonfanti (Acoustic Act Of The Year) and Walter Trout (Overseas Artist Of The Year).
