Sugarland Concert Stage Collapse Settlement Reached

(Radio.com) Sugarland, Live Nation and 16 defendants have come to an agreement in a settlement after a stage collapse in Indiana in 2011. The country duo, concert promoter and 16 defendants will pay $39 million to settle the lawsuit claims from the Indiana State Fair stage collapse, which killed seven people and injured close to 100 others.

Sugarland were the next act set to perform at the Indiana State Fair before the stage rigging and roof fell on festivalgoers after high winds hit the fair grounds. According to The Tennessean, some plaintiffs didn't accept the settlement.

However, all other lawsuits were dismissed on Friday (Dec. 19). 'Those that have lost loved ones will never have the harm erased from their lives," attorney Kenneth J. Allen said.
