(Radio.com) As Luke Bryan gears up for the holidays with his family, he took some time out to rewrite the Nat King Cole classic, "The Christmas Song," to celebrate and thank the fans who have seen him on tour this year.

According to CMT, Bryan sent an email to fans yesterday (Dec. 23) where he shared his new take on "The Christmas Song." In the lyrics, the "I See You" singer switched the concept of "chestnuts roasting on an open fire" to "peanuts boiling on an open fire," paying tribute to his father, who is a peanut farmer.

Bryan has a soft spot for Christmas songs, as a quick YouTube search comes up with the country singer performing "Run Run Rudolph" in the studio complete with a Santa Hat.

Watch that video and see the complete lyrics to Bryan's new version of "The Christmas Song" here.
