David Nail Reflects On Breaking The Law For His First Time On Radio
. "The first time I ever heard any of the songs on the radio, it was my first record deal," he told Radio.com. "I was 21 [and] I was driving through Memphis. Ironically, it was a song called 'Memphis.' I had just been doing an interview with a radio station so I kind of had an idea that they possibly might play it. I'll never forget. I was driving across the river into Arkansas to Southeast Missouri where I grew up and it came on." Alone in the car, Nail said it was one of those moments that he wished he had someone beside him so he had proof that the moment just happened. Pretty soon his phone started ringing, so he wasn't completely alone during that big radio moment. "I had three or four family members that live in the Memphis area call me immediately," he recalled. "That would have had to be my first cell phone so I was already breaking the law by talking on my cell phone driving. But it was an exciting moment." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
