Snoop Dogg Pays Homage To Classic Video Games in New Video

(ID) Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion has released a new video for the song "Get Away" which comes off his Grammy-nominated album Reincarnated. The video pays homage to old school video games like Pokemon, Meta Slug and Zelda.

The concept behind "Get Away" is simple, Snoop Lion must escape from his past to take on another chapter of his life. In order to do so, Snoop must fight off foes from his past, which was once filled with anger, crime, and brute force. "Get Away" was directed by Ashten "Whoopi" Winger of Cashmere Agency and animated by Mykola Dosenko.

Snoop's journey during the recording of the Reincarnated album in Jamaica is documented in the film of the same name and traces the life and career of Snoop Dogg, as he embarks on a "journey of reincarnation of self." The documentary is now available on DVD and Digitally. An accompanying piece to the multi-media project of the same name Reincarnated, the book, offers a glimpse into how the album, film, and ultimately, Snoop Dogg's growth into Snoop Lion came to be and reveals personal photos that cannot be found elsewhere.

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on January 26, 2014, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The show will be broadcast on CBS at 8 p.m. EST/PST. Watch the video here.
