The National Announces North American Tour
. The tour also includes a March date in L.A. that coincides with the theatrical premiere of their film Mistaken For Strangers. In addition to releasing Mistaken For Strangers, the band is readying a Grateful Dead tribute album. In an interview with Radio.com last year, Matt Berninger and Bryce Dessner talked about what fans could expect of the LP, which features covers by Vampire Weekend, Bon Iver and Kurt Vile and slated for release later this year. "We're taking our time with it, that's part of the fun. We're trying to enjoy the process," Dessner said. "One thing that we're looking at with this idea of doing a Dead tribute is just sort of examining who are unlikely fans of The Dead, and one person I would say is a composer name David Lang is a really important kind of post-minimalist composer he won the Pulitzer prize a couple of years ago he's like a massive Dead fan."
