Prince Drops Multimillion Dollar Lawsuit Against Fan Bootleggers

.
(Radio.com) Prince has rescinded his previous lawsuits filed earlier this month against 22 Prince-loving bootleggers. The singer had filed a lawsuit for $22 million, suing each bootlegger for $1 million, accusing each individual for "massive infringement and bootlegging of Prince's material," according to Consequence of Sound, who got their hands on the 21-page lawsuit.

Many of those sued were fans who uploaded Prince's material on personal Facebook pages and fan sites including Purple House, Purple Kiss and Funky Experience 4.0.

On several forums, Prince fans expressed their disappointment at these lawsuits, which targeted many of his fans personally. On Prince.org, one fan wrote, "Yes bootlegging is wrong, but who is next? Dude will even go after regular ass fans really sad." Meanwhile, another asserted, "Prince will be remembered for making some of the most beautiful music ever created and for hating his fans."

Perhaps in an effort to win fans over, Prince just released a teaser of "PRETZELBODYLOGIC" from his forthcoming album, Plectrum Electrum, which is set for a spring release. Listen here.
