Red Hot Chili Peppers Super Bowl Spoof

(Classic Rock) The Red Hot Chili Peppers are the subject of a practical joke ahead of their appearance at the Super Bowl this weekend. Spoof website RHCP2014.com is offering what purports to be a new Chilis single titled Abracadabralifornia - but it's actually a mickey-take of some of the band's best-known musical gimmicks.

However, drummer Chad Smith beat the mystery joker to the first round of laughs ahead of Sunday's Halftime Show. He told press his outfit were going to cover Led Zeppelin's live version of Dazed And Confused, which would last longer than their allotted set.

After many news outlets reported his quotes as stone-cold truth he said last night: "People in the media are so gullible sometimes," adding: "We will, however, be performing side one of Rush's 2112." Watch the spoof here.
