(Radio.com) Brian Johnson says, with or without ailing guitarist Malcolm Young, AC/DC's 15th album is complete. Johnson admitted in a new interview that Malcolm's absence was definitely felt during the album's completion, something that has informed the record as a whole, for which he was replaced by his nephew, Stevie Young.

"Stevie, Malcolm's nephew, was magnificent, but when you're recording with this thing hanging over you and your work mate isn't well, it's difficult," Johnson said. "But I'm sure he was rooting for us. He's such a strong man. He's a small guy but he's very strong. He's proud and he's very private so we can't say too much. But fingers crossed he'll be back."

Johnson also noted that Young was still in the hospital at the time of the interview, posted yesterday (July 9). It's still unclear what illness is currently ailing the band's rhythm guitarist. more on this story
