Rise Against Challenged Themselves On New Album
. "I felt like we demanded more out of ourselves on this record," confessed McIlrath. "It wasn't just like 'Let's do another record.' It was more like 'Let's create something. Let's go into this and prove that we still have what it takes to challenge ourselves, challenge our listeners. Let's take our fans and our community down this road with us. Let's build something, but do it in a way that's not just rehashing anything old.'" When Kevin and Bean asked how it felt to be in seven albums in to their career, McIlrath paused and reflected. "I don't know what that was, I don't know if that was sort of like mortality, like a midlife band kind of thing, but it was something about going into this record it was the first time I had really counted our records. I think that before this record it took a journalist to tell me what record we were on. I wasn't keeping track of them" more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
