Pink Floyd Releasing First New Album In 20 Years (A Top Story)
. Samson posted the following tweet, "Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called 'The Endless River'. Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright's swansong and very beautiful." The project marks the group's first release since 1994's "The Division Bell." Keyboardist Wright died from cancer in 2008 at the age of 65. The news follows reports this spring that Gilmour was in the studio working on a new solo album, which backup singer Durga McBroom-Hudson now reveals was for the new Floyd album. "The recording did start during The Division Bell sessions (and yes, it was the side project originally titled 'The Big Spliff' that [drummer] Nick Mason spoke about)," she wrote. "Which is why there are Richard Wright tracks on it. But David and Nick have gone in and done a lot more since then." "It was originally to be a completely instrumental recording, but I came in last December and sang on a few tracks," she added. "David then expanded on my backing vocals and has done a lead on at least one of them." Read more and see a photo from that session - here. hennemusic is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
