Deftones Begin Work On New Album

(TeamRock Radio) Deftones have started writing music for what will be their eighth album, frontman Chino Moreno has revealed. There's no release date for the follow-up to 2012's Koi No Yokan. But Moreno says the band will stick to their tried-and-tested approach to songwriting on the new material.

He tells Soundwave TV: "We don't plan on what kind of record we're going to make. We react to each other - one guy starts playing something then the other guy reacts to it, and the other guys react to that.

"Next thing we know, we have a song. I think that's the best way to write music. We don't have a game plan as long as it's good, as long as we're happy and feeling it. It's worked for us over the years."

Moreno admits he hasn't begun work himself, saying: "The other guys started last week - I'm excited to hear what they've done so far."
