(Radio.com) One Direction has made a point of keeping fans on their collective toes with their musical choices forgoing just simply producing tween-ready pop anthems to take surprising turns, such as the 2013 single, "Story of My Life," which seemed to channel Mumford & Sons.

It appears the band will continue evolving its sound on upcoming releases, with NME reporting that the guys have been working with early aughts alt-rockers Good Charlotte as well as emerging Irish band Kodaline on music presumably destined for an upcoming LP.

Joel Madden of Good Charlotte took to his Instagram over the weekend (March 8) to post a photo with his twin brother Benji Madden and One Direction's Liam Payne posing in a London studio. Fellow One Direction-er Louis Tomlinson used Twitter to shout out Good Charlotte, with Benji Madden returning the favor on his own Twitter account, calling the upcoming One Direction release "crazy."

Late last week (March 6), Kodaline tweeted out that they were in an unnamed Los Angeles recording studio working with One Direction's Harry Styles, calling the song "massive" and including a cheeky in-studio portrait of the studio session drawn by Styles himself. more on this story
