John Mayer Buys $650k Worth of Fake Watches

. (Radio.com) John Mayer's expensive watch taste isn't quite the wonderland he had hoped. Who Says you need a real watch? The singer reports he has spent over $5 million on watches. But, what he originally thought were authentic Rolex watches have since been deemed counterfeit by the watch brand. So, he's suing.

Mayer filed a complaint against watch dealer Robert Maron in California Superior Court last Tuesday (March 18), according to Billboard. The case he filed is a "complaint for rescission and restitution due to fraud, rescission due to mistake, breach of contract, fraud and negligent misrepresentation."

In the complaint, Mayer states Maron is a "self-described preeminent expert on wristwatches and person of impeccable integrity" and his "trusted friend." After Mayer discovered his watches' counterfeit parts, Maron allegedly refused to take the watches back. more on this story
