Rolling Stones To Play Very First Show in Israel
. The legendary rock band will be performing their very first concert in Israel on June 4th, 2014 at Tel Aviv's Hayarkon Park, according to an announcement from the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are thrilled to announce the first-ever performance in Israel by one of the most influential musical groups of all time," said Haim Gutin, Israel Commissioner for Tourism, North and South America, "which further adds to an already dynamic lineup of performances and festivals taking place in Israel this year." The band recently postponed their Australian and New Zealand leg of the 14 On Fire tour following the death of frontman Mick Jagger's girlfriend L'Wren Scott. The members of the band released the following statements last week: Keith Richards said, "No-one saw this comingMick's always been my soul brother and we love himwe're thick as thieves and we're all feeling for the manwe really hate to disappoint our fans but we'll see everyone really soon." Charlie Watts said, "Needless to say we are all completely shocked but our first thought is to support Mick at this awful time. We intend to come back to Australia and New Zealand as soon as it proves possible." Ronnie Wood said, "This is such terrible news and right now the important thing is that we are all pulling together to offer Mick our support and help him through this sad time. Without a doubt we intend to be back out on that stage as soon as we can."
