(Radio.com) The first time Thomas Rhett heard "Get Me Some of That," which just went to No. 1 on the Mediabase Country singles chart, he knew it had to be a single. Written by his dad (Rhett Akins), Cole Swindell and Michael Carter, Rhett said his dad sent him the demo the day he got it back.

"I immediately put it on hold," Rhett told Radio.com in Las Vegas during the ACM Awards. "We were going to go back in and cut a few songs. I knew from the first time I heard it that I wanted it to be a single. It's one of those tunes you can groove to. The guys like it, the girls like it. It's just a fun one to sing along to."

While Rhett didn't have any involvement in the writing process, he produced the track in the studio with Luke Laird. Rhett explained that there's no tension with he and his dad during the writing or recording process. In fact, it's the exact opposite.

"It's good for both of us. It's mailbox money for him. The more hits you have, hopefully the more people are coming out to your concert. The writing world is a full circle with everybody," he said. more.
