The Black Keys Perform On The Colbert Report

(Radio.com) The Black Keys are taking full advantage of the Colbert bump. The band, whose latest album, Turn Blue, was released on Tuesday (May 13), made another stop at The Colbert Report-their fourth-to talk about their new album and touching host Stephen Colbert's prostate, which they did the last time they were on the show.

Leading Colbert to ask what we all were wondering, "How did it [Colbert's prostate] influence the album?" The band's response? Just look at the Turn Blue album cover.

Colbert also wondered if this latest release shows the "Phish-ification" of the band, being that they now have an over 7-minute track on the album. The band says no, but did admit the Grateful Dead had a little influence on this one.

In their short interview, Patrick Carney did manage to find time to throw a little shade Pitchfork's way, noting that according to the site, they "made the record wrong." Seems like the Black Keys aren't too happy about the big ol' 5.8 rating the site gave them.

Oh yeah, the guys also played a few songs while visiting their old friend, including "Fever" and the album's title track. Watch the guys perform those here.
