Ed Sheeran To Play New York City's Ellis Island This Summer
. In an interview on Friday morning (May 16) with New York's Fresh 102.7 (a Radio.com station), Sheeran announced that June 13 will be Multiply Day in NYC. Sheeran will start off the day by playing a small intimate gig before playing a number of other venues, all increasing in capacity, eventually ending the day at Ellis Island. "It's an interesting concept thought up by the label," Sheeran said of the idea. He previously did a Multiple Day in England and Ireland where he started out played a show in his hometown for about 40 people before making his way to Dublin for a show that held 2,500 people. The Ellis Island show will however mark the first time Sheeran has ever been to the gateway for millions of immigrants coming to the United States. "I'm sure one of my ancestors has been there though," he told Fresh 102.7. "I know my great, great, great grandfather came over from Ireland because they all lived in Boston." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
