Slash Discusses Velvet Revolver's Plans

(hennemusic) Slash shared an update on the status of Velvet Revolver during press interviews on the red carpet at the 10th annual MusiCares MAP Fund benefit concert at Club Nokia in Los Angeles recently.

"I think we're gonna audition a singer coming up," said Slash. "So there's that. But I'm gonna be out on the road for the next year and a half [with my solo band] anyway, so"

Velvet Revolver released two albums, including 2004's "Contraband" and 2007's "Libertad", but have remained inactive since the 2008 departure of singer Scott Weiland, who returned to Stone Temple Pilots ... and was later fired by that group in 2013.

In late 2010/early 2011, Velvet Revolver recorded demos with Slipknot/Stone Sour singer Corey Taylor, but reports indicated that Slash was unable to commit to adding him to the lineup, and the project was put back on hold as the guitarist continued touring in support of his debut solo album.
