AC/DC's Phil Rudd Arrested For Murder For Hire Plot
. The police launched an early morning raid of Rudd's home in Tauranga and was taken into custody. In addition to charge for attempting to procure the murder of two men, he was also reportedly charged with threatening to kill, as well as possession of methamphetamine and cannabis after the police found the substances during the raid. The 60-year-old drummer entered no plea when he made an appearance in the Tauranga District Court and was later released on bail. He is scheduled to be back in court in three weeks. Classic Rock reports that the alleged offensives reportedly took place back on September 25th and 26th. The name of the two targets of the suspected murder for hire plot and the alleged hit man were reportedly named by police investigators but Judge Louis Bidois suppressed their identities. This news comes as Rudd was noticeably absent from AC/DC's recent video shoot and from a publicity photo. The band was filming promotional clips for songs from their forthcoming album "Rock or Bust," the group's first album without founding member Malcolm Young who retired from the group after being diagnosed with dementia.
