Garth Brooks Honors Cancer Survivor During Concert
. Currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, Shaw brought along a sign she made that read, "Chemo this morning, Garth tonightEnjoying 'The Dance.'" As Brooks was singing "The Dance," Shaw's sign appeared on the video screen, which elicited cheers from the audience. The sign also grabbed Brooks' attention. Brooks walked to the front of the stage where she's standing, sat down and continued singing directly to her. He then passed her his guitar, stood back up and delivered a series of rousing, off-the-cuff remarks about faith, helping hands, the strength of a room full of people and, ultimately, how all that can add up to "kick[ing] cancer's a**."
