(Radio.com) Twenty-five years after its end in 1991, Twin Peaks will return to TV screens. In an ominous post on YouTube Monday (Oct. 6), Showtime (and show producers David Lynch and Mark Frost) revealed that the cult TV show, which ran for two seasons from 1989-1991, will come back for a third season in 2016.

The show itself will take place 25 years later as well, according to the minute-long teaser video. After a clip from the show's season two ending, the video zooms in on a city limits sign for Twin Peaks, all the while teasing a 2016 release on Showtime.

According to The Verge, Lynch will direct the series' third season, which will reportedly be a limited run. He'll share writing duties with Frost. Read more here.
