. Yesterday Sept. 17, now known as "Foo Fighters Day RVA," was declared by mayor Dwight Jones. How exactly did the band, which has no real historical connection to Richmond, get their own day? It started with Foo Fighters announcing that they were going to play a crowd-funded concert in the city - their first gig there in 16 years - at the venue The National. In the mayor's proclamation of the day, he credits the "fan-orchestrated event that brought Foo Fighters back to Virginia's capital city." Read more here.
