Opening with ramshackle acoustic guitar strums, "Cleopatra" begins with a stomp-clap sound similar to what The Lumineers and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros have brought to alternative radio in recent years. But Rivers Cuomo's subdued vocals in the verse give way to a chorus that is simple in its repetition of the title's namesake.
