(Radio.com) Garth Brooks is much more than his music: The country singer recently celebrated the opening of the 11th Child Life Zone, which is a designated area for children facing long stays at hospitals, earlier this week at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis.

Through Brooks' charity, the Teammates for Kids Foundation, the aim is to bring Child Life Zones to children's hospitals throughout the country. "The Child Life Zone is a place in the hospital where no doctors or needles are allowed," Brooks said. "It's a place where a kid gets to be a kid."

According to the Indianapolis Star, the Child Life Zone at Riley Hospital includes a pool table, a Foosball table and an air hockey table, as well as a Microsoft wall of Xbox video games. The room also includes a space for baking, crafts, a recording studio for guests to broadcast their visit to each patient's room and, most importantly, allows children to escape the feeling that they are in a hospital and go back to being a kid again.
