Michael Ray Talks No. 1 Single 'Kiss Me in the Morning'
. "Having the number one single right now, it's the most surreal time of my life," he told Radio.com yesterday, clearly amazed. "It's a song that two of my buddies, Justin Wilson and Michael White, wrote it. Scott Hendricks produced it, he's a legendary producer. This is his 60th number 1 single!" Hendricks' discography includes albums by Blake Shelton, Alan Jackson and Trace Adkins, among other legends, and Ray is flattered that he had the opportunity to work with the man. Earlier this week, Michael Ray performs the song on Good Morning America, but many of his new fans have already seen Ray's marquee-ready looks in the song's music video. Filming it was a new experience for the singer. "That was brand new, I'd never shot a music video before. It calmed my nerves that we shot it in Eustis, Florida, my hometown. We were able to do the whole thing on the main street of my town, and my grandmother was in it at the end." "My grandfather passed away earlier this year, in February, that's his name on the back of the airboat. We made a flag with his name on it. My thing was, this is my first video and I wanted to go back to where it all started. Your first song is your introduction, and I wanted the world to see where I come from." Read more here.
