Why Adele Wasn't Nominated For A Grammy

(Radio.com) Amid the 2016 Grammy nominations announced on Monday morning, one name was decidedly absent: Adele. After releasing 25 on November 20 to massive sales, it seemed like the singer would be a shoo-in for the big categories like Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

But Adele wasn't snubbed, she was simply ineligible. Eligible artists for the 2016 Grammys must have released music between October 1, 2014 and September 30, 2015.

Since Adele's album came out nearly two months past the deadline, she qualifies for the 2017 GRAMMY Awards, which as her fans have already begun pointing out, won't be much of a competition. Read more here.
