Courtney Love Performs 'All I Ever Wanted' From New Musical
. (Radio.com) Courtney Love has always had a penchant for dramatics and soon she'll be taking advantage of that gift right where it belongs: a theater. The professional headline-maker and Hole frontwoman has a new gig, playing the lead in Kansas City Choir Boy, a "theatricalized concept album" penned by Todd Almond, who will also serve as Love's co-star. The production follows the pair who become romantically involved in the midwestern town before separating "when one goes in search of destiny and then disappears," according to Almond's website. The on-stage couple will reportedly be backed by "a chorus of sirens" and musicians, but in a sneak peek of one musical number, Love gives an especially raw rendition of the production's "All I Ever Wanted," backed by Almond on the piano and a cellist. "I really wanted to do theater," Love told The New York Times, who premiered the video, "But probably I'm not ready to do a play quite yet." So a musical was a logical next step for the musician.
