Robert Plant, Black Keys, Alabama Shakes to Play Mountain Jam
. (Radio.com) Back in the early days of weekend long "destination" festivals, lines were pretty clearly drawn. Coachella was for hipsters, Bonnaroo for hippies and Austin City Limits was roots music for grown-ups. These days, the lines have blurred. AC/DC has been announced as one of the headliners for this year's Coachella, Billy Joel and Kendrick Lamar share space on the top line on the Bonnaroo poster, and ACL hasn't announced their talent list yet, but last year's big names included Skrillex, Eminem and Calvin Harris. But while most festivals trying to be all things to all people, upstate New York's Mountain Jam still caters towards the hippie contingent; although the lineup isn't strictly jam-bands, it has a very jam-band-approved vibe to it: the headliners are the Black Keys, Robert Plant and the Alabama Shakes. Also on the bill are some staples of the jam scene though: Gov't Mule, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, moe., Railroad Earth, Rusted Root, the Wailers, and more.
