(Radio.com) In recent years, Black Eyed Peas have become a pop powerhouse and have also delved into EDM, so it's understandable that some people might have forgotten the band's roots as an old-school hip-hop loving crew.

But in their new music video for a brand new song, "Yesterday," (they double down on their hip-hop credentials. Most of the video takes place in an actual record store (like, they sell vinyl), and the band don't just geek out over classic albums, they pay tribute to specific hip-hop classics and superimpose themselves onto iconic album covers.

But when we say "they," we mean will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo, which was the group's original lineup. Singer Fergie, who joined in 2002 (coinciding with their ascent into the pop world) is not in the video at all.

In the video, they pay tribute to Black Sheep, Digable Planets, de la soul, Run-D.M.C., Def Jef, Audio Two, Queen Latifah, Ice-T, Doug E. Fresh, A Tribe Called Quest, Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth, the Wu-Tang Clan (and Ol' Dirty Bastard solo), Das EFX, Public Enemy, N.W.A., KRS-One, LL Cool J and others. Read more here.
