Metallica Play 'The Unforgiven II' For First Time In Concert

. (hennemusic) Metallica performed the live concert debut of their 1997 track, "The Unforgiven II", at the Rock Im Revier festival in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on Friday and video of the performance has been posted online.

The track - which originally appeared on their 7th album, "Reload" - was previously played during the band's December 8, 1997 appearance on the Billboard Music Awards.

"The Unforgiven II" was the sequel to "The Unforgiven" from 1991's self-titled album, and was followed by "The Unforgiven III" on 2008's "Death Magnetic."

The German appearance is Metallica's opening date of a 4-show run of European festivals before the group returns to headline the 2015 X Games in Austin, Texas. Watch the "The Unforgiven II" performance here.
