(Radio.com) Eagles of Death Metal are making their long-awaited return via their first new album since 2008. The duo, which features frontman Jesse Hughes and drummer Josh Homme (the latter, of course, is Queens of the Stone Age's frontman) will release Zipper Down on Oct. 2.

It's worth mentioning that it will not only be released on LP, CD and digital, but also cassette. Because what better place to listen to the Eagles of Death Metal than in a tape deck in your car (preferably a Camaro)?

Hughes and Homme played all the instruments and wrote all the songs on the album, except for "Save A Prayer"; that's be a Duran Duran cover. As if it wasn't self-explanatory enough, Hughes explained the album title in a press release: "The new album, Zipper Down, really represents to me an attitude and philosophy of life. One should not zipper up, they should zipper down and let it all hang out."

For his part, Homme cited science to make a case for the album. "In an independent study, four out of three doctors say Zipper Down is an eargasm trapped inside a crazerbeam," he wrote. "And I believe them." Read more here.
