Dave and Phil Alvin Announce New Album 'Lost Time' (A Top Story)
. Now they'll issue Lost Time via Yep Roc - a record that pays tribute to the blues legends who inspired the brothers when they were young musicians. Dave says: "We want to pay homage to the masters of the Blues, the most transcendental form of American music. This time around, the guitars are cranked up, as is the energy. "We tried our best to honour all these magnificent musicians, songwriters and singers as well as expose them to new listeners, and perhaps raise some ghosts up from their graves for a minute or two. And, hopefully, my brother and I have also again found some damn lost time." The Alvins formed the Blasters In 1979 but hadn't worked together since Dave left to pursue a solo career in 1986. The pair were brought closer together in 2012 after Phil collapsed while on the road in Spain. The reunion led to their 2014 release. They've made the track World's In A Bad Condition available to stream - here. The Blues Magazine is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
