American Horror Story Hinted At Lady Gaga Last Season
. (Radio.com) Fans of American Horror Story were watching the fourth season, Freak Show, very closely for the clues creator Ryan Murphy teased to Entertainment Weekly back in October of 2014. Murphy promised a season five clue that was "arcane" but "very purposeful." Turns out, the clue was the recurring top hat. Entertainment Weekly reports that it was meant as an Easter egg, pointing viewers to the 1935 film Top Hat starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, which is set in a hotel-Hotel is the subtitle of season five of AHS. And the Lady Gaga connection? Astaire and Rogers duet on a song written specifically for the film called "Cheek to Cheek," which is also the title of Gaga's duets album with Tony Bennett.
