Icona Pop Return With New Song 'Emergency'

(Radio.com) Icona Pop roared onto the pop music scene with 2012's "I Love It," a song that also launched the career of Charli XCX on the national stage. Now they're back with their newest attempt at radio dominance, and it's sure to stick in your head the same way their first hit managed.

"Emergency," out today (May 26), is the newest single from the Sweden dance duo, and roars in with a rapid tempo, bouncing beat from the start, both Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo and commanding listeners to "shake that a-/ spinning 'round and 'round and 'round and 'round like that" before relenting to a soulful vocal and blaring saxophone--a part that may not be as infectious as last year's sex appeal-oozing "Talk Dirty" from Jason Derulo, but is in the same ballpark.

The new song is currently unattached to a major release of any sort, but don't be surprised if a new record is around the corner; This Is' Icona Pop hit stores in September 2013.

With "Emergency," the duo will attempt to top "I Love It," an international hit that surged to No. 7 in the U.S. and is currently their only Hot 100-charting song. Check out the new song here.
