J. Cole Remixes A Tribe Called Quest's 'Can I Kick It?'

(Radio.com) The 25th anniversary of the release of A Tribe Called Quest's debut studio album Peoples' Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm is rapidly approaching.

To celebrate, the rap group is dropping a re-issue of the classic album with three fresh remixes. North Carolina rapper J. Cole put his own spin on the hit song "Can I Kick It?"

The album, which was remastered by Grammy winner Bob Power, also features remixes from Pharrell Williams and Cee-Lo Green. Williams reworks the magic of "Bonita Applebum" while Green puts his stamp on "Footprints."

Cole left the verse of "Can I Kick It?" alone and modified the beat. Before the song was a mash up of jazz and boom bap hip-hop. Now, the beat has a lighter feel to it. Read more here.
