Lindisfarne Cofounder Simon Cowe Dies
. The band posted the following message on their official website last Thursday, "It is with great sadness that we have to tell you that our dear friend and colleague Simon Cowe has died yesterday, 30th September. "Simon had been ill for some time, and was being cared for in hospital in Toronto, a city he had made his home since the early nineties. At the moment we don't have the words to express how we feel. Our thoughts are with his children Jessie, Dylan, and Bernadette." According to Classic Rock, Cowe was part of the lineup formed under the name Brethren in 1968, and played guitar, mandolin, banjo and keyboards until his departure in 1973, when he formed Jack The Lad with colleagues Rod Clements and Ray Laidlaw. Cowe rejoined when the band reactivated in 1976, then again in 1978, and remained until 1994. Read more here. Classic Rock Magazine is an official news provider for antiMusic.com. |
