Deep Purple, Cheap Trick and Yes Lead Rock Hall Nominees

Long snubbed rock acts Deep Purple, Cheap Trick, Yes and Chicago are among the artists nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame's induction class of 2016.

Other nominees for the class of 2016 include The Cars, Chaka Khan, Chic, Janet Jackson, The J.B.'s, Los Lobos, Steve Miller, N.W.A., Nine Inch Nails, The Smiths, and the Spinners.

Fans will be allowed to vote for their selection and the winner of the popular vote will get ONE ballot among the 700-odd voting members, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The organization will reveal the 2016 inductees in December and they will inducted at a black tie event in New York City next April.
