Kendrick Lamar And Macklemore Fuel Colbert Vs. Fallon Late Night War

(Radio.com) Late night TV hosts Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert may make nice in public but judging by the sounds cranking from each of their stages Wednesday night, there is clearly a rap battle brewing on the musical guests front.

On Wednesday there was a hip hop showdown, as Colbert featured Kendrick Lamar, while Jimmy Fallon had a performance from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, along with a few hip hop trailblazers.

Backed by Colbert's in-house band, K. Dot ran through an intense medley of songs from To Pimp a Butterfly, including 'Wesley's Theory," 'Momma," 'King Kunta," and 'U." He brought along with him Thundercat and Bilal, for back up.

Fallon, for his part, opened the stage for Macklemore, who delivered a high powered performance of his latest song "Downtown." His special guests, also featured on the song, were Eric Nally as well as Kool Mo Dee, Melle Mel, and Grand Master Caz, who all kicked verses. Read more here.
